There are preparations to supply water to various irrigation methods to achieve the ambitious plan of the Winter Wheat Initiative this year.
In 2016, the focus will be on providing irrigation water through various irrigation methods to achieve the irrigation development work. These include 95 family lake irrigation, 26 community lakes and 257 hectares of short wells, 8.5 km of Modern Scheme canals, 25,484.1 hectares of isolated pump irrigation, 14715.7 hectares of traditional irrigation and 14715.7 hectares of modern irrigation 2583 hectares A total of 42,783.2 hectares will be cultivated by these irrigation methods.
According to the advisor of the Oromia Irrigation and Agricultural Development Bureau, Mr. Mamad Jiloo, the wheat initiative should be made successful by providing irrigation water.
