Land preparation, 30613 hectares of land, sowing of 19379 hectares of wheat and supply of various types of irrigation water have been done in the Zone. The irrigation water supply is being provided using various strategies to make the irrigation wheat cultivation successful this year.
According to the I/G of the Irrigation and Horticulture Development Office, Mr. Jeylan Adam, 648 hectares of traditional irrigation, 5660 hectares of amayya irrigation and 24315 hectares of palm irrigation have been identified in the district. The farmers / horticulturists of the district have learned from the knowledge and experience of last year’s activities and have started irrigating wheat to produce it scientifically this year.
