The management of the District Irrigation and Agriculture Office and the Head of the West Shawaa District Administration Office have been discussed with the Oromia Regional Irrigation and Agricultural Development Bureau Committee.

This year, 237,000 hectares of irrigated wheat is planned to be grown in West Shawaa.

During the discussion, issues such as shortcomings were raised and directions were given on how to solve them.

They discussed the supply of irrigation pumps so that the irrigation water users associations can make their savings and buy the powerful ones and the pumps that need repair should be repaired on time.

The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Leader Advisor to the Bureau of Irrigation and Horticulture Development, Mr. Adana Birraass who said that it is necessary to start working now before it is given time to make the irrigation plan for this year a success we need to work on it by making them aware that they should buy what they can afford. Those that need repairs should be repaired as soon as possible and ready for service, he said.
