Engineer Girma Regassa, Head of Oromia Bureau of Irrigation and Pastoralist Development, highlighted the significant progress made in the implementation of irrigation projects over the past three years. Out of 73 ongoing projects, 22 ‘Finna’ irrigation projects have been completed, ensuring their usability for the community. These completed projects have successfully captured 96 million m³ of water.
The Bureau is committed to completing the remaining projects without compromising quality and within the stipulated timeframe. To achieve this, senior officers and Bureau heads are coordinated and efforts in undertaking continuous monitoring, and following up on progress.
Additionally, Engineer Girma Regassa noted that 17 projects are nearing completion and will be opened for community use this year.
