A panel discussion is being held regarding the 19th Herdsmen’s Day celebrated in Oromia region.
At the forum, Head of Oromia Irrigation and Pastoralists Bureau, Mr. Girma Gerasa, said that the main purpose of celebrating Pastoralists Day is to show that pastoralists can benefit from developing the potential resources in the area.
Therefore, he said that the festival is celebrated to encourage the work of the pastoralists.
He added that the region consists of vast investment, business and tourism resources and said that they will work to promote these resources on this occasion.
They also mentioned that by promoting the various investment, history, tourism and heritage resources in the region, the public should visit them.
Different research articles focusing on pastoralism are being presented and discussed in the forum.
This year’s Herdsmen’s Day will be celebrated for the 19th time under the theme “Development of the Herdsmen’s Area for the Prosperity of the Nation”.
