To solve the problem of irrigation water supply in our region, the Finna Oromia project was formulated and currently 73 projects are under construction and 12 of these projects have been completed and inaugurated.

In the Horticultural Region, these projects are of great significance especially due to the water shortage in the region.

The 73 Finna projects being implemented in our region will be able to develop the land and thus the husband will benefit from it.

There are 13 projects in Borana and 4 projects in East Borana.

The Funnaan Birreessaa project in Areerroo District has the potential to develop 1,000 hectares of land and will benefit more than 2,000 households.

 The dam has a storage capacity of more than 17 million cubic meters and is 19.5m high and 1.2 km long. The dam was constructed by Narucon I/G/M Construction Company while Oromia Engineering Corporation served as a consultant.

The Government has spent over Qarshii 800 million to complete the construction of this project.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by the Head of the Bureau of Irrigation and Horticulture Development, Eng. Girma Raggasaa said the government will continue to cut the ribbon by starting the projects as soon as possible. He said the Finna projects will contribute significantly to the community’s recovery from drought and economic development.
